ABOUT AïSSATOU TOUNKARA

Former soccer phenom that has played soccer professionally in countries such as England, France, and Spain. She officially signed her first professional club contract with Paris FC as a teenager in the year 2011. Since then, she has also made appearances as a member of the French women's national team.

She initially began her youth soccer career with Buttes Chaumont SC. She then joined 92 Issy and Paris FC.

While playing with France, she won the 2017 SheBelieves Cup. Just three years later, her and her teammates won the 2020 Tournoi de France championship. On July 7, 2023, she replaced the injured Amandine Henry in France's squad for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

She grew up living with her parents and siblings in Paris, France. She is of Gambian descent.

She played alongside Katie Zelem as a member of Manchester City during the 2022 club season.
