Estonian writer known for his 2001 novel The Volta Works Whistles Mournfully. He is also known for Beast on the Landing, a 2004 work set during medieval times.
He studied literature at Tallinn University.
He won first prize in the 2000 Estonian Novel Foundation competition.
He was born and raised in Tallinn, Estonia.
He is a contemporary of American writer Michael Chabon .
