ABOUT AFGANSYAH REZA
Indonesian pop singer with over 600,000,000 streams on Spotify. His musical style is a mixture of pop, r&b, and jazz combined with traditional Indonesian folk music. He won the Best Solo Male Vocalist Award for the song at the 2009 Anugerah Musik Indonesia, and was named one of "10 Indonesian hip hop and R&B artists to check out right now" by HipHopDX in June 2022.
His career began when he and his friends visited WannaB Instant Recording Studio to record music for their personal collection and use. The studio producer liked his voice so much that he was immediately offered a recording contract.
Initially, the name on his birth certificate was Afganistan. However, his name was changed to Afgan Syahreza, because his father was worried that his son would have difficulty traveling abroad. Besides his singing career, he has also acted in a few Indonesian films and television shows, including "X Factor Indonesia".
He is the second of four children of Loyd Yahya and Lola Purnama. He has three siblings, whose names are Kharisma Dheri, Dhika Claresta, and Arsya Satya Yudha.
