ABOUT AHMAD LAWAN

Nigerian politician and professor who has gained fame for serving as the President of the Senate of Nigeria. He represents the Yobe North Senatorial District and is a member of the All Progressive Congress party. Previously, he served in Nigeria's House of Representatives and was re-elected three times.

Prior to entering politics, he was a professor at the University of Maiduguri.

He received a master's degree in remote sensing from Ahmadu Bello University and earned his PhD in the same subject at Cranfield University.

He was born in Gashua, which was in the north of British Nigeria at the time.

Dino Melaye is also a member of the All Progressive Congress party in Nigeria.
