ABOUT AJIT WADEKAR
Great retired left-handed batsman for India from 1966 to 1974 and Mumbai from 1958 to 1975 who is considered one of the finest slip fielders of his time.
He was born in Mumbai and made his first-class debut for the team in 1958.
He is one of very few people to have represented India as a Test player, captain, coach/manager and the chairman of selectors.
His father wanted him to study mathematics and become a mathematician. He married Rekha Wadekar.
He was a popular left-handed batsman like fellow Indian A.G.Milkha Singh .
