Celebrated singer-songwriter and composer whose 1997 album Más became the top-selling album in the history of his native country Spain. He's won more than 20 Latin Grammys and four Grammys. Among his most popular hits are "Corazón Partío," "Amiga Mía" and "No Me Compares."

Inspired by his father, who was a guitar salesman, he learned to play the guitar at age seven. He released his first album in 1989 under the stage name Alejandro Magno.

He performed his song "Quisiera Ser" alongside Beyoncé and Destiny's Child at the 2001 Grammys. He was a judge/coach on the first season of La Voz and his aspiring artist Oscar Cruz won the competition.

He had a daughter named Manuela with his first wife Jaydy Michel . He had a son with Valiera Rivera named Alexander in 2003. He was married to Raquel Perera from 2012 to 2019 and they had two children together named Dylan and Alma. He began a relationship with Rachel Valdés in 2019.

In 2005, he collaborated with Shakira on his massive hit "La Tortura," which sold more than 12 million copies.
