Professional second baseman and middle infielder that was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds during the 27th round of the 2015 Major League Draft. In 2021, he was named one of the Reds' top 100 MLB prospects. His baseball fame has earned him more than 10,000 followers on his alejolopez59 Instagram account.

He was drafted out of Greenway High School in Phoenix, Arizona. After being drafted, he officially began his professional career playing for the Arizona League Reds.

He made his official major league debut playing against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 28, 2021. He recorded his first MLB hit during his only at-bat that day.

He is a native of Mexico City, Mexico.

He has played alongside Jonathan India as a member of the Reds during the 2021 and 2022 regular seasons.
