Celebrity family member noted for being the brother of Academy Award-nominated actress Vera Farmiga , who starred in films such as The Departed , Up in the Air , and The Conjuring . He is also the brother of renowned television star Taissa Farmiga , who has portrayed leading roles on multiple installments of FX's American Horror Story , including Murder House , Coven , Roanoke , and Apocalypse .

He lived in Irvington, NJ before growing up primarily in rural Flemington, NJ. Religion and his Ukranian heritage played a substantial role in his upbringing.

While living in a rural home in Flemington, NJ, he and his family members raised animals. They also enjoyed playing music together and dancing.

He is the 3rd and last-born son of systems analyst and landscaper Mykhailo Farmiga and schoolteacher Lubomyra "Luba" Spas. In addition to Vera and Taissa, he also has two other brothers named Stephan and Victor, as well as sisters Laryssa and Nadia Farmiga .

His sister Vera Farmiga earned a 2nd Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her performance in the multi award-winning biographical miniseries When They See Us . She played the role of Elizabeth Lederer, opposite Asante Blackk , Caleel Harris , and Marsha Stephanie Blake .
