ABOUT ALEXANDER WALKER
American film critic who wrote for the London Standard from 1960 until 2003. His largest work is called Hollywood England, National Heroes and Icons in the Fire.
He attended university at Queen's University, Belfast, the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, and the University of Michigan.
He was on the jury at the 18th Berlin International Film Festival.
He was born in Portadown, Northern Ireland.
He wrote several notable books about the film industry, including a biography of Stanley Kubrick and another of Elizabeth Taylor .
