Alfred Kreymborg
ABOUT ALFRED KREYMBORG
Poet and playwright who is remembered for his 1938 radio drama, The Planets: A Modern Allegory. His other works include Apostrophes: A Book of Tributes to Masters of Music and a 1925 autobiography entitled Troubadour.
He grew up in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City. He published his first literary work, Love and Life and Other Studies, in 1908.
He was a close friend of poet Carl Sandburg .
He was the son of Hermann Kreymborg, a New York cigar store owner.
He and Ezra Pound were literary contemporaries.
