ABOUT ALICE PHOEBE LOU
South African singer and songwriter who is known for her solo work as well as for being a member of the group Paper Castles. She is known for her hit singles "Skin Crawl" and "Galaxies" and has toured throughout Europe, South Africa, and the United States including playing three sold-out shows at the Berlin Planetarium.
She started with piano lessons but quickly taught herself guitar instead. She then discovered trance music at 14 and started photographing different concerts she attended. After a gap year from high school, she moved to Berlin and started singing and performing. She went on to release her debut EP Momentum in April of 2014.
Her original song "She" which was featured in the film Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story was included on the Oscars shortlist for Best Original Song.
She was born and raised in Kommetjie, South Africa but later settled in Berlin. Her parents were documentary filmmakers.
She performed at the 2015 edition of the South by Southwest music festival alongside fellow performers Amber London , Amanda Perez , and Redman .
