Allan Haines Loughead
ABOUT ALLAN HAINES LOUGHEAD
American aircraft manufacturer and aviation pioneer who co-founded Alco Hydro-Aeroplane Company, which was later renamed Lockheed Corporation.
He grew up with a keen interest in kites and gliding experiments.
He was inducted into the the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 1986.
He moved around a great deal with his mother after his parents' divorce. He founded Lockheed with his brother Malcolm Loughead.
He and Howard Hughes were both aviation pioneers.
