ABOUT ALLAN WELLS
Former British sprinter who won multiple medals, including gold in the 100 meters and silver at the 200 meters at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.
He dropped out of Liberton High School in Scotland to begin an engineering apprenticeship.
He was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame.
He married Olympic sprinter Margot Wells, and they had two children.
In 2013, he commented that he wasn't sure how Usain Bolt could still find the motivation to compete considering all he has accomplished.
