American songwriter who was an original member of the band the Blue Oyster Cult. Some of their songs include Don't Fear the Reaper and Godzilla.
He first performed with Blue Oyster Cult in 1967.
He also worked with other musicians such as Patti Smith and The Dictators.
He grew up with family on Long Island, New York.
He worked with as well as dated Patti Smith for several years in the 1970s.
