Philosopher and logician best remembered for proving the undecidability of Entscheidungsproblem, a popular algorithm.
He graduated with honors from Princeton University.
He was known for being a fanatically religious individual and was a member of the Presbyterian church for his entire life.
He was born in Washington, D.C. His father Samuel Robbins served as D.C.'s Municipal Court judge. His Uncle Alonzo helped him gain entrance into the Ridgefield School for Boys.
He once taught at the University of Chicago where noted journalist John Hockenberry once studied.
