ABOUT ALTHEA BROWN
Food blogger, writer, entrepreneur, businesswoman, TikTok star, online content creator, and social media personality who founded the Metemgee blog who highlighted traditional dishes from Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad. Many of her recipes are paleo and gluten free.
She started cooking at age nine. At 18, she and her family moved to New York.
She did her first round of Whole30 in 2015. Her Whole30 experience taught her that she had a sensitivity to gluten. She earned more than 180,000 followers on her metemgeeblog TikTok account. In the year 2023, she released a cookbook called Caribbean Paleo.
She and her husband grew up in Guyana. As a child, she ate traditional Guyanese dishes made by her mother, aunts, and grandmother.
She and Raquel Natasha are both popular bloggers from Guyana.
