ABOUT AMANDA GRAVES
This Baltimore-based tattoo artist has felt a "super strong connection" to Harry Potter since she was a kid. She owns Dark Arts Tattoo Studio, which was inspired by the Potter series. One of Potter's classes at Hogwarts was called "Defence Against the Dark Arts," Graves says the three most-requested tattoos revolve around Harry Potter, animé, and Pokemon. She opened Dark Arts a month before the pandemic, and the lockdown, hit, which is when she started posting to TikTok, where she now has 1.2M followers, and another 152K on Instagram.
She spent five years tattooing at Spill the Ink in nearby Edgewood before opening Dark Arts.
She was a competitive cheerleader for 15 years, and is now a cheer coach.
She has a husband and a daughter.
In response to Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton asking to "tell me you're a Harry Potter fan without telling me you're a Harry Potter fan," in June of 2021, Graves showed off her tattoo of Alan Rickman, as Severus Snape, on her left thigh.
