Indian actress most famous for movie roles like Radha Kumar in 2007's Amal and Mrs. Rastogi in 2009's 3 Idiots. She has also had roles on several popular television shows, including Shankari Tai on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
She grew up in a Maithil Brahmin family and made her film acting debut in 1998's Dushman.
She has been nominated for a Zee Rishtey Award for Favourite Buzurg.
She is the mother of actress Shreya Jha.
