Amr Hamzawy
ABOUT AMR HAMZAWY
Egyptian political activist and educator who became a member of the Egyptian parliament in 2012.
He earned two Master's degrees: one from The University of Amsterdam and one from The Institute of Social Studies at the Hague. He also earned a Ph.D from the Free University of Berlin.
He worked as the research director at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Beirut and participated in the negotiation process of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.
He married Egyptian actress Basma Hassan in 2012.
He was part of the Tamarod movement that called for early presidential elections during the term of President Mohammed Morsi .
