Born Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira, he is a midfielder who joined both the English Premier League's Manchester United and the Brazilian national team in 2007.

From 1993-2004, he was part of Gremio's youth system.

He played for Brazil's under-23 team in 2008.

He was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

From 2007 to 2011, striker Ronaldo was his teammate on Brazil.
