Novelist and short story writer whose works of science fiction includes Among the Missing and This is the Year Zero. Over the course of his career, he published dozens of short stories and several novels.
He published his first novel, Station Gehenna, in 1987. A short story collection, Distant Signals, followed two years later.
He published many of his science fiction novels and short stories in France.
He was born in London, England and later became a Canadian citizen.
He was born in the same year as fellow science fiction author Harry Turtledove .
