Hall of Fame defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants who achieved greatness despite being undersized.

He played football and baseball at Stamford High School, and then served in the Navy during WW II.

He won a championship in his rookie year with the Rams.

He was born in Stamford, Connecticut, his father Lucien was of Italian descent.

Bob Waterfield was the quarterback of the Rams team that won the 1951 NFL Championship.
