ABOUT ANKA LAVRIV
Tattoo artist known for her intricate pen and ink style. She's also co-owner of the Brooklyn tattoo shop Black Iris Tattoo.
She did her first tattoo herself and it was the name of a Swedish band that she'd fallen in love with.
She's also an accomplished visual artist in other mediums including ink drawing and illustration and photography.
Her mother was a font developer who worked on Ukrainian propaganda posters. She and her sister used the art supplies lying around the house to teach themselves to draw.
Andrey Lukovnikov is also a tattoo artist who was born in the Ukraine.
