ABOUT ANNE CAMERON
Known for works that focus on the First Nations tribes of the Pacific Northwest, this Canadian author is perhaps best known for her 1978 novel Dreamspeaker and for her 1981 Ticket to Heaven screenplay. Her other publications include the 1983 poetry collection Earth Witch and the 1985 children's work How Raven Freed the Moon.
Near the beginning of her literary career, she received several poetry prizes, including the 1972 Alberta Poetry Competition Prize and the 1973 Bliss Carman Poetry Award.
In the early 2000s, she published Family Resemblances, Hardscratch Row, and several other works of fiction.
Born Barbara Anne Cameron in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, she is also known by the pen names of Anne Cameron and Cam Hubert. She spent her adult life in Tahsis, Powell River, and Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Her screenplay for Ticket to Heaven became a Genie Award winning film starring Robert Joy and Nick Mancuso.
