ABOUT ANTANAS SKEMA
Lithuanian writer, stage actor, and director who is most famous for his 1958 novel, The White Shroud. He acted and directed at both the Vilnius State Theatre and the Lithuanian State Theatre.
He studied both medicine and law at the University of Lithuania.
He moved to the United States in 1949 and subsequently acted with professional theatre companies in Chicago and Boston.
He was born in Poland to Lithuanian parents. He married Janina Solkeviciute.
He and Jean Paul Sartre are both associated with existentialism.
