French sculptor whose family emigrated from Spain. His portrait sculptures are renowned for their likenesses to the subjects.

He produced the statue of the Madonna when he was only 17.

He was employed on behalf of Louis XIV to produce decorations for Versailles.

He married Marguerite Quillerier in 1666.

He and Fernand Leger are both sculptors from France.
