Screen Actors Guild Award-winning actress who plays the quick-witted Alex Dunphy on ABC's hit comedy Modern Family . She also provided the voice for Penny Peterson in the 2014 feature Mr. Peabody & Sherman .

She first appeared on the small screen at age six in a Cool Whip television commercial.

She has also done voice acting for the animated series Phineas and Ferb .

She has two siblings, Shanelle Workman and Jimmy Workman , who are both actors. She has two dogs named Casper and Rocco. In 2016, she began dating Levi Meaden , but their relationship ended in 2019. She previously dated Laurent Gaudette . She and Luke Benward started dating in 2020.

She played the on-screen little sister of Sarah Hyland on Modern Family.
