ABOUT ASHOK SEKHAR GANGULY

Former Chairman of Hindustan Lever. He was also the Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a member of the Rajya Sabha.

He earned his Ph.D. in 1961 from the University of Illinois Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.

He was the recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award given by the Indian government.

He married Shrimati Rooma Ganguly shortly after becoming successful.

He and philosopher Pandurang Athavale were both awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
