ABOUT ASHUR BET SARGIS
Singer and composer best known for his nationalist songs. He formed the band East Bird Band in Chicago, Illinois in 1970. His first album released was titled Ashur Sargis Sings for Ancient Assyria.
He started his professional career in 1961.
His genre of music is Assyrian music, folk, and soft rock. He became the first Assyrian artist to tour overseas in 1976.
He is from Baghdad, Iraq to an Assyrian family. He later resided in Los Angeles, California.
He and folk singer Hardi Salami were both born in Iraq.
