ABOUT ASSER YASSIN

Egyptian actor who became a star with his acclaimed performance in the 2008 thriller Zay El Naharda. He has since appeared in leading roles in films like 2010's Messages from the Sea and 2013's Rags & Tatters.

He worked as an engineering teaching assistant at the American University in Cairo. He participated in rowing and taekwondo.

He received the Best Actor award at the Carthage Film Festival and the Malmö Arab Film Festival for his performance in Messages from the Sea.

He married Kenzy Abdallah in 2012. He has sons named Taher and Ameen.

He appeared alongside actress Mona Zaki in the 2015 drama Aswar al-Qamar.
