She appeared in many Chinese films before having a breakout performance in the American film Red Corner. Her acting in The Crow , Wild Wild West , and Lost bolstered her fame.
She served as a nurse for her country's army until she was checked into a mental institute.
She competed in the 2005 season of But Can They Sing?, in which she made it to the semi finals.
Her parents are Chen Binbin and Bai Yuxiang. She has two siblings, Bai Chen and Bai Jie.
She was in a 1998 music video with Chris Isaak for the song "Please."
