She sang in her Baptist church choir.
Her hit "I Know (You Don't Love Me No More)" was one of three songs to hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The other two were "You Talk About Love" and "Send For Me (If You Need Some Lovin')."
She married at the age of sixteen.
Bonnie Raitt recorded her song "I Know (You Don't Love Me No More)."
