Barbara Moraff
ABOUT BARBARA MORAFF
American Beat Generation poet known for Deadly Nightshade, Telephone Company Repairman Poems, and other works. She also wrote cookbooks and worked as a potter.
She started writing poetry when she was eighteen years old. Her early poetry collections include Learning to Move and Potterwoman.
She founded the Vermont Artisans cooperative in 1973.
She was born in New Jersey, and she later settled in Vermont. She and her lover had two children, including a son, Marco, who suffered from cystic fibrosis.
She was a friend of fellow Beat poet Allen Ginsberg .
