Bernard Kangro
ABOUT BERNARD KANGRO
Twentieth-century Estonian poet and writer who belonged to a shamanic artists' group called Arbujad. His poetry collections include Reheah, Tulease, and Suvihari.
He published his first collection of poems, Sonetid, in 1935.
He was forced to flee Soviet-occupied Estonia and move to Sweden in 1944.
He was born in Voru County, Estonia to Minna and Andres Kangro. He died in Sweden at the age of eighty-three.
He and Kalju Lepik were literary contemporaries.
