ABOUT BILL D'ELIA

Screenwriter who is known for having been an executive producer and director of shows like How to Get Away with Murder , Chicago Hope , Boston Legal , Ally McBeal , Harry's Law and Monday Mornings . He also co-created the series Judging Amy . He has collaborated with Shonda Rhimes and David E. Kelley . He has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards for producing and directing.

He graduated from Ithaca College in New York. He earned a master's degree in communication arts from William Paterson University in New Jersey in 1972.

In the 1980s, he worked as a director of television commercials. He directed more than 100 episodes of shows such as Glee , The West Wing , Doogie Howser, M.D. and Northern Exposure. He served as executive producer and a director for the Disney+ series Big Shot .

He and his wife Ellie Dombroski have two sons, comedian Chris D'Elia and filmmaker Matt D'Elia .

He directed John Stamos in the series Big Shot.
