ABOUT BILL LEE

Former major league left-handed pitcher who became known for his iron-like durability on the field and unfiltered personality off of it.

He played college baseball at the University of Southern California and came from a baseball-centric family.

Because of his counter-culture opinions and on-field antics, he earned the nickname Spaceman.

His aunt Annabelle Lee pitched in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. His grandfather William Lee played infield.

His Boston Red Sox lost to Pete Rose and the Cincinnati Reds in the 1975 World Series.
