ABOUT BILLY THOMSON
Scottish goalkeeper who played for St Mirren, Dundee United, and Motherwell, among other clubs. He represented Dundee United in the 1987 UEFA Cup. After retiring from his professional soccer career, he became a goalkeeping coach.
He began his professional soccer career with the Scottish club Partick Thistle.
He made 317 first-team appearances for St Mirren. He made his full international debut for Scotland in a 1980 match against Northern Ireland.
He was from Linwood, Scotland.
Jim Clunie signed him to St Mirren in 1978.
