ABOUT BOB COUSY
Legendary point guard who introduced a new blend of ball handling, and led the NBA in assists 8 straight seasons. He won six NBA Championships with the Boston Celtics from 1957 to 1963 while playing alongside the great Bill Russell . He was the first president of the NBA.
During his freshman year at Andrew Jackson High School, he was cut from the basketball team; he late became a star for the team and went on to play college basketball at Holy Cross from 1946 to 1950.
He was selected to 13 consecutive All-Star games from 1951 to 1963 and in 1957, he was named NBA MVP.
He had two daughters with his wife, Missie Agnes Ritterbusch.
Under Cousy and Bill Russell , the Celtics put together one of the most dominant runs in NBA history.
