Jazz-rock fusion drummer and an original member of the band Blood, Sweat & Tears.

He graduated from the City College of New York with a degree in psychology.

In the late 1980s he was a correspondent for the television show Entertainment Tonight.

His wife, Donna Abbott, is a graphic designer.

His brother was Thelonious Monk's manager.
