Hip-hop artist and West Coast rapper who was one of the founding members of the hip-hop foursome The Pharcyde. His PharcydeTV has 120,000 followers on Instagram and 140,000 subscribers on YouTube.
In the 1980s, he was a dancer for Fatlip. Imani and Slimkid3 were in a group called As Is and later a group called the Play Brothers. The four met up as dancers. They decided to form their own hip-hop group in 1989.
He provided vocals for the track "Dirty Harry" from Gorillaz 's second studio album, Demon Days. The Pharcyde released 4 studio albums throughout their career.
He was born Romye Robinson in Pasadena, California. In 2017, he and his ex-wife Lisa Chin founded Store No 242 in Los Angeles, selling designer and vintage items, as well as Pharcyde merchandise.
He has collaborated with The Roots , J Dilla , Gorillaz, and De La Soul . Pharcyde continue to record and tour, together and solo. In 2022, he was featured on the Gorillaz song "New Gold," alongside Tame Impala . He also started PharcydeTV.
