ABOUT BRETT HAUER
NHL defenseman who represented Team USA at the IIHF World Championships in 1995, 2003, 2004, and 2005, and at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
He had a terrific high school career that led him to a successful amateur career with the University of Minnesota Duluth.
He was a fourth-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.
He grew up in Richfield, Minnesota, and garnered many awards and accolades for his professional athleticism; however, he chose to keep his personal life out of the press.
He and Patrick Kane both became known for their puck-swatting skills on the ice.
