ABOUT BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS
A well-known comic book writer and artist, he launched the Ultimate Marvel Universe comic book series, Ultimate Spider-Man, in 2000. He received five Eisner Awards and four Wizard Awards for his comic book work.
He worked as an illustrator for The Plain Dealer in the early years of his career. His first popular comic book series began publication in 1996 and was titled Jinx.
He taught graphic novel courses at Portland State University.
He met his wife, Alisa, in 1995. The couple subsequently became parents to four children.
He was influenced by the work of Frank Miller .
