ABOUT BRIAN PINKNEY
Multiple award-winning book illustrator known for his children's book illustrations depicting protagonists from a young nlack American perspective. His work has also been featured in the New York Times Magazine, Women's Day, Business Tokyo and Ebony Man. He publishes studies of works in progress and final designs.
He graduated from the University of the Arts in Pennsylvania. He earned an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
He has won the prestigious Coretta Scott King Honor four times, the Coretta Scott King Award once, and the Caldecott Honors twice.
He has lived in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife Andrea and their two children.
His dedication to the craft of children's illustration is similar to Adrienne Adams , who has also won the Caldecott Award twice.
