Screenwriter best known for penning the immensely successful Rob Reiner film, Stand by Me (1986).
After moving to Hollywood, he got his first writing credit on the feature film, Starman, in 1984.
He also wrote the Kevin Costner film, Mr. Brooks, in 2007.
He was raised in Long Beach, CA.
He wrote the successful screenplay, Jungle 2 Jungle, which starred Tim Allen .
