Bruno Méndez

ABOUT BRUNO MéNDEZ

Professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Corinthians. He also plays for the Uruguay national team. In October of 2022, he was named in Uruguay's 55-man preliminary squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

He developed through the Academy of Montevideo Wanderers. He made his professional debut in November of 2017 against Rampla Juniors in a 1-0 home win.

In February of 2019, he signed a four-year contract with Corinthians. He was also the captain of the Uruguay team at the 2019 South American U20 Championship, the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup, and the 2019 Pan American Games. Following the injuries of Diego Godín and Marcelo Saracchi, he received maiden call-up to Uruguay senior team for friendlies against Brazil and France in November of 2018.

He is engaged to Cata Olaso.

He and football player Diego Fagundez both play for the Uruguay national team.
