ABOUT CARL ICAHN

Billionaire business tycoon and founder of Icahn Enterprises who made a fortune in savings and loans.

He worked as a stockbroker on Wall Street in the 1960s after a stint in the Army.

He was known for betting on the fortunes of various companies, which eventually led to his taking over some of those companies sometimes against their wishes.

His father was an aspiring opera singer who never got his big break and settled to be a cantor.  After learning about the situation from his daughter, he became a vocal critic of McDonald's due to their approach to the treatment of animals.

He and Mitt Romney both made millions of dollars by taking over and turning around struggling companies.
