She was a ballet dancer and model before she started screenwriting.
She has written under various pseudonyms, including Adrien Joyce and A.L. Appling.
She is the sister of Charles Eastman , who is not to be confused with the Native American physician with the same name.
She was a screenwriter for director Mike Nichols ' 1975 film, The Fortune.
