ABOUT CAROLE MACNEIL

Television journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation who has garnered several Gemini awards over her career.

Born in Nova Scotia, she climbed through smaller radio stations until she became a senior anchor at CBC, where she became involved in covering international affairs.

She hosted the CBC News: Sunday and was also a key figure in the launch of Canada Now, an early evening news program.

In June 2009, she married Richard Stursberg, a former CBC executive.

She interviewed Colin Powell .
