Carolyn Kizer
ABOUT CAROLYN KIZER
American feminist poet who received the Pulitzer Prize for her 1984 work, Yin. Her other poetry collections include Mermaids in the Basement and Midnight Was My Cry.
She attended Sarah Lawrence College, Columbia University, and the University of Washington.
She was editor of the Poetry Northwest literary journal during the early 1960s.
She had three children with her first husband, Stimson Bullitt. After divorcing Bullitt, she married John Marshall Woodbridge.
She admired the work of John Milton .
