Older sister of Colton Burpo . Colton became known as The Boy Who Lived after having, according to him, spent a brief time in heaven after his heart failed. Her father, Todd , then penned the book Heaven is for Real, based on Colton's experience.

Her brother began complaining of stomach pains and a high fever before being taken to the hospital. His illness was initially misdiagnosed as the stomach flu.

Her brother had been dealing with a burst appendix for 5 days before undergoing an appendectomy. The book Heaven is for Real was then turned into a film in 2014.

Her mother is Sonja Burpo . She is the oldest of three children, with Colton and Colby being her younger brothers.

Greg Kinnear and Kelly Reilly starred in the film version of Heaven is for Real.
